In order to ensure your trip is as fun and exciting as possible, below are a list of Frequently Asked Questions that will prepare you for your adventure If you have other questions, please do note hesitate to contact us

Q. What should I wear?

A. We recommend you wear soft soled sport shoes and comfortable clothing. Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats are also recommended and can be purchased at our kiosk prior to sailing if necessary.

Q. How active do I have to be?

A. The level of participation is entirely up to you, and you can easily relax and watch the action unfold in front of you.

Q. Are there any age or mobility restrictions?

A. We welcome guests of all ages from 7 years of age and up. The general guideline is that if you can climb a flight of stairs unaided then you can take part in the excursion. We make an effort not to exclude anyone from participating so if you have specific requirements feel free to call us and discuss them.

Q. Will I get wet?

A. There is a chance that you will get splashed; this is largely dependent on the weather conditions. However, there is no need to bring towels and we ask group organisers to please refrain from sending groups with towels.

Q. Can we eat onboard?

A. Catering options exist for the Sundowner Cruise and for private charters. If guests are participating in the America’s Cup Racing Experience then we ask group organisers to please refrain from bringing lunch boxes onboard without discussing it with us in advance as guests will not have the opportunity to eat during the excursion. Feel free to call us and we can work with you to ensure that your groups have the opportunity to re-fuel either before or after their excursion.

Q. What safety issue do I need to be aware of?

A. Auto-inflating life jackets are available for those who wish to wear them. The crew will give you a detailed briefing on important safety information while onboard. Please pay close attention as our yachts are complex and highly loaded racing machines. If members of your group do not speak English as a first language please let us know prior to the trip.

Q. Is there a toilet onboard?

A. Please use the restroom in the ferry terminal prior to the start of your race. There is a basic toilet onboard but it will be more comfortable to use a land-based toilet.

Q. Are drinks included?

A. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided to you during the sail. Arrangements can be made to serve beer onboard after the actual race. For The Sundowner Cruise beer, wine and champagne are included. Should you have specific requirements we will be more than happy to accommodate you.

Q. Can I bring a camera?

A. If you are interested in taking pictures during your race, we recommend that you bring a waterproof camera. Personal digital cameras are allowed onboard but be aware that it is possible for them to get wet. We can provide a professional photographer and/or videographer for your group.

Q. Will I get seasick?

A. Our yachts are very large and stable, and incidences of seasickness are rare, however, if you are prone to seasickness, please be sure to take the necessary precautions in advance.

Q. Can I purchase souvenirs?

A. If you would like to buy something as a keepsake, Bermuda Cup Racing merchandise will be available for purchase after your sailing. We accept cash, Mastercard, Visa and American Express.
